A STUDENTS PARTICIPATION AND THEIR SKILLS DEVELOP DURING THE ZETEO QUEST ACTIVITY 2018 AT STI COLLEGE ORTIGAS-CAINTA

We, a group of Technical Vocational – Culinary Arts (Tech-Voc Culy) senior high school students, submit herewith a report entitled A Students participation and their skills develop during the ZETEO quest activity 2018 at STI College Ortigas-Cainta, in partial fulfillment of the requirements in our course English for Academic and Professional Purposes (EAPP).

This report examines the happening in the ZETEO Quest, happened on October 2, 2018 where the students let their skills showcase and enjoyed their day. Our goals and objective here is to see what are this student’s feedback about the activity and what are those skills that help them not only to finish the question but also how they help each other in their group.

SUMMARY

                                                                                                           

        This technical report is all about the ZETEO Quest that the STI College Ortigas-Cainta has given to those students who wants to experience this and can get a lot of learnings. This reports goals and objectives wants to know if the Senior High School students had a lot of learning that they learned and their feedback to the activity they do.

        We also want to know if they had found out some of their skills that they never know that they have it. We want to find out how they get through to this challenges they face while enjoying the ZETEO Quest. We gathered data by asking some students on what is there feedback, hearing their opinion on the activities and their ways on how did they have a great teamwork.

        What we have found out in the recommendation part is that a lot of students do really want a higher level on the Zeteo Bus Segment, we do also expect that we will be enjoying ourselves there. Another thing is in the registration form, some students cannot come to the activity because they cannot find their name in the list. Before starting the event make sure that the list is all clearly and good

        They say in the Zeteo app got a little problem. There is some misunderstanding that come up, some questions are not connected to what the topic is all about. They should fix the app first so that the game is processing properly because some groups are stuck in some levels because it is already lock, and add more exciting games too. In short, they should be prepared before doing this event.

                                                                                                           

INTRODUCTION

                                                                                                            

        Our country has a lot of groups that expert on using technology. The Zeteo Quest is one of the groups that help students to be prepared in calamity by using mind-games and realistic activity. The Zeteo Quest is also known as the expert on making educational games and educational events for private and public school. Also the Zeteo Quest is expert on making 3D effects, also on making games like VR or Virtual Reality games.

        The purpose of this report is to give idea what should the student can gather on Zeteo Quest, to know if they do really help the students to engage their hidden skills when it comes to challenges and puzzles, also if those students really enjoy their day. This report gives some idea in Zeteo Quest, what are the happenings, how did it happen and also to convince some student to be part of Zeteo Quest.

        We the make this report for us to have knowledge on Zeteo quest and to became prepared if ever there are some natural disaster like the Zeteo Team teaches us.

  1. What is Zeteo Quest?

Zeteo Quest is a reality game that expose and gives the students a realistic experience while having fun and learning from the activities. It is also a mind-game that needs a team work and to test your analytical thinking.

  The following organizers of the Zeteo quest are the officials of the Zeteo and also the professors of STI College Ortigas-Cainta. They lead the program by giving us an initial idea what is the main goal of Zeteo Quest.

The main goal of Zeteo Quest is to give us the awareness of what are the possibility happens when the earthquakes, flashfloods, landslides and etc. occurs. They also give us tips on what we’re going to do if the calamity happened, and also to use our minds to think deeply and to have a great teamwork that can surpass their challenges.

 

2. Segments and Activities

        In the first segment that they have is the Survival game, there are some objects that they flash on the projector where the groups will have a permission to pick an object that can let them survive in a given situation or after a natural disaster for a longer time. This Survival game will help us to choose wisely too on what are the objects that we should have to be able to survive in a natural disaster that can come without a warning in our country.

         In the second activity called the Zeteo Storyline where the zeteo staffs will tell us a story about zeteo, they choose some students that can role play the characters in the story, the students also have a role in this activity, not only to listen and watch but also to understand what is the story about. The goals of this is to let us realize that we should decide wisely because those decisions can make our lives change.

          The third one is the Zeteo Go App where you will use their app and will use your physical strength because this segment needed a lot of time and patience. In this game there is a different level where you will get a questions and you will need to scan a picture for you to get the puzzle and solve it to reach the another level, in this segment it helps us to really think deeper and use not only our critical thinking but also the communication and understanding, of course you need to have a teamwork here for your group to finish the level, it helps us to showcase our hidden skills like solving puzzles, understanding codes and many more that can encourage you to take those challenges.

 

3. Student Skills Acquisition

        In order to prepare students to have more knowledge in science the program will help student to prepare in any environmental hazard. two days ZETEO programs should provide experiences that go beyond chemistry knowledge alone to develop other critical skills necessary for effective and productive professionals. Strategies for helping students acquire skill sets needed for future calamities such as earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes and etc.

        It helps the student’s awareness so that we do not harm and hurt in any calamities. The curriculum should include the skills and knowledge of greatest importance to the program’s partners. Hands-on experience should be emphasized and employability skills, such as problem solving, survival and etc. So we can be saved and our families.

 

4. Student Engagement and Participation

        The students registered in these activity by agreeing to the letter that the STI College Ortigas-Cainta give them, of course with the parents’ approval too. From what I heard there are Seven Hundred (700) students who do join this activity.

       This event started by having a different batch and meeting them at the field of school, they are so organized because the teachers and other staffs of ZETEO knows what to do and even in their photo booth they have a number of people per picture.

        The students did really participate and do it seriously, rain or shine they still continue to do the quest. This activity ended by going to the last segment called Hello Kuya where you will be asked what are your thoughts on the activity, does it help you and what are your realization on doing the quest.

 

5. Student Feedback and Assessment

        Zeteo helps the student to became active in extracurricular activities like zeteo. The zeteo helps the students because it helps to become aware of the disasters that might come in our country.

       Students have the ability to find the answers in given situation that seen in the phone. there are programs that need to find the answer to the walls on the ground of STI Collage Ortigas-Cainta. their survival program has helped student to choice things or materials that important that can carry or use when disasters arise. but it does not make it easier for the question and answer because not all the student might answer it so that they have been able to solve the problem. It should not be so questionable because not all students are able to answer the problem.

                                                                                                           

CONCLUSIONS

                                                                                                           

         As we gather data from different students and also based on our experience in joining the Zeteo Quest, we do really enjoy the fun games and activities we have its just that a lot of the students wants more activities and challenges that can make them more motivated on doing such things.

        Like on the Zeteo Bus, some students expected something unique from it. In overall, I expect that next time the Zeteo Team would have some unique and exciting activities that will surely bring out the skills and talents of the students, they do teach us and help us to do a great teamwork for us to get pass through any challenges as a team and do practice ones communicating skills because you do really need it a lot. This Zeteo Quest Experience will leave a good memory in each one of the students.

                                                                                                           

RECOMMENDATIONS

                                                                                                           

        What we recommend is to add more effects in a VR bus like shaking when there are earthquakes but it is only for the senior high school not to the elementary students nor pre-school also.

        The following event is okay but there are some issues from the Zeteo app that many students didn’t know on easy or medium or hard they start. There are some also questions that is very hard that to answer even our professors also can’t answer. Also We recommend next time they make sure the app is processing properly and give directions to make it clearly.

        In the registration of the students are slightly terrible because some of the students who passed the form are not in the list. We may recommend that the listing of names next time make sure that it is 100% Clear and all who pass their forms are indicated.

        The skills and the focused of the segments are good. They explain and give experience to us while having fun and learning. We may recommend that they add more games like giving a scenario and what would they do if they’re in the following event while wearing a Virtual reality.

Human are biologically adapted to their ancestral food environment in which food were disperse and energy. This modern generation new developed a very accessible and non expensive food.They are called “SUPER FOOD” for example chocolate which have a non healthy benefits in our body.

Overweight person worrying on the food they eat in the every day life. Because of their weight they usually concerned from their body.The french tradition of moderation in spending time in eating and emphasis of the joys of the moment rather than making life comfortable and easy. French physical environment encourage to have healthy lifestyle in our daily life.

Overall ,the article is good and well explained ,and the strength is they are given examples.

Passion on teaching kids By Stella Jabone

In teaching kids all of us struggle on how we manage to teach them and also to briefly focus our mind in every actions they did around us.Being teacher of young kids we try to develop listening skills with our young learners that they can understand what we teaching.Teaching kids requires hard work,commitment and patience.

In every child,it is need hard work teach them from the actions they do,It requires step by step to teach them carefully understand every lessons or value they need to sink in their mind for the future.

And in teaching they include commitment by understanding every child problem to feel them that we also love them,in teaching kids we are responsible on how they speak and actions , because we are the one who put in ,in their mind. Being kids it require commitment on teaching them to develop fast their idea and knowledge.

And it test our patience during teaching them by how strategies will do in order to adapt our lessons we teach on them. From the actions they do that irritates or make us angry for some reasons in some kids. It requires patience to clearly understand what we teach on them.

Every kids we cannot say it is easy to build them as what we are or develop their skills easy as a adult , because it requires hard work ,commitment, and patience.

Against to legalized abortion in Philippines By Stella Jabone

Abortion is the removal of embryo or fetus from the uterus either by natural expulsion or by human intervention.Who ends to the result of death of the embryo or fetus before it reach the stage of viability.

Abortion carries diverse risk and might happen performed in a private healthcare institution,in a dodgy and medical office in the house of the pregnant women faced with this reality that abortion not just can kill the living life inside the mother womb but also it can risk the mother life by cause of strong stomach pain after having abortion ,bleeding may lead to anemia and weakness. Abortion is wrong when baby is aborted has no chance to life. It kills the young living who breathe inside the mother is technically wrong because it kill human life who has potential to prosper in this world.

Human life is a precious gift of God. It is a sacred thing that god gave us. Every woman wanting to have a child and why some of pregnant women need to remove this young child on their life.

Although they are some cases that women suffer from rape,incest or depression that makes the mother think to kill the child inside her. But still it does not resolved the situation by killing an innocent life, we need to realized and open our eyes on that the child has no idea around,but accept the gift from the God that the living wanted also love and care from a mother.

Concept Paper: Botanical garden in school

I. Introduction

Every people has their own idea of how to help others when they need it. We think of an idea that can help the STI students and it can also have a benefit to us. We introduce to you the plan of having a Botanical Garden in School. Botanical Garden is a garden where there are different types of plants are grown for education and scientific purposes, also cultivates plants from the word botanic it means that it is some kind of A drug, medicinal preparation, or similar substance obtained from a plant or plants.

Having a garden is important because the collection of this botanic garden can help you in many ways, like in your research it is important to have an accurate information about the plant that they are studying, the plants there isn’t just for design but also they give information too, gives you ingredients for those culinary students, green-thumb students can help us also to start planting those different types of plant, we can inspire them, we will let them showcase their skills. The founder’s and sponsor’s really do agree on our idea of having this botanical garden in school, it will cost too much but it has a benefit that will be a big help to us all and to aspire others that nature is a beautiful thing, we shouldn’t

II.  Purpose

The purpose of having a botanical garden is to lessen the expenses on the other ingredients that the culinary students like us, and also to have a knowledge on how to plant a plants, vegetables and spices. It may also help to our nature of having a plenty of plants, some helps to relax.

A major contemporary objective of botanical gardens is to maintain extensive collections of plants, labeled with common and scientific names and regions of origin. The living collections of plants are often much more than attractive artistic exhibits. Many serve to maintain a living store of genetic diversity that can support a variety of conservation, restoration, and research endeavors.

Having an Botanical garden can make our dishes delicious. Because we are using fresh vegetable or spices that we planted on the garden. And also if we have botanical garden we can have a fresh air from our garden. Having a lot of customer or having good grades because of its taste and nature that we have if we make botanical garden.

And botanical garden can also help us having an alternative medicine we can plant some medicine plants. But the main purpose of having botanical garden is to gain fresh ingredients and lessen our expenses and let other students to express their green-thumb skills

We want to have students a place where they can think and relax their minds and lessen their stress by planting plants, harvesting or building some creative things to the ambiance of the garden.

3.  Benefits/Anticipated Outcomes

There are more benefits of having an own botanical garden in school. As a culinary student we need enough ingredients for our food like fruits or vegetable that be taken to our garden it’s less time consuming. Our ingredients should be checked to prevent food poisoning we should be aware.

This will help not only students who take culinary arts. It also helps our fellow students why? Because of this other student who loves to plant or some green-thumb persons might enhance their skills. Our school may be less populated because we know that planting a tree or small plants like flowers can provide fresh air.

Philippine’s Adobo; A critique paper By Ronnel John Castillon

They give the ingredients and the other way to cook adobo but they don’t give nutrients that we can get to adobo. They also give some use of adobo like filling on pastry it was good to know that they noted it and tits good that our adobo was famous on other country. I notice that they don’t wrote the oldest type of adobo that the only use is salt, it have no soy sauce on that adobo. They just wrote the origin where it came from, and it was goosthat they mention that we served it to the other region that has conquer us like Spain, American and etc. And I notice that they have poor information in adobo. Their have limited source and not the most important things that we should know if you know what is adobo.

The article I read was “cooking and eating sustainable: Six simple steps to get started” By Russ Parsons. I noticed that the article was too short and lack of examples and the indention was not included like the inappropriate symbols like dashes. It’s like the summarize of his work. It has also no beginning and he has lack of ides and the ending is not organized well. The whole article was okay it has the idea but it seems it does not organized because of the procedure is not correct and it shuffles from the idea and the procedure that need to do for the idea of the whole article. The things that needed was in there and the content also was maybe okay for me. I just don’t get the idea what was the reason why there are inappropriate symbols and punctuation marks. I noticed also that he used inappropriate words like he didn’t think that there are child that maybe read this article about cooking to get some idea and he used words that needed some parental guidance to guide the child what was they were reading. He must use appropriate words and punctuation marks to be must considered his article was okay and informative also it for children that will read his article, to be has no issue for them to doubt to read his article. The next time he write an article he must also include the grams for the procedure for the readers to be must applicable to them.

Fast food employees experiences serious physical problem, stress, psychological problem, emotional problem By Marco Arsula

In the recent years, working in a fast-food place is the stressful job. The work in there was so intense and the whole workplace was fill with stress and pressure. That is why stress in the fast-food workplace has led to serious physical, psychological, and emotional problems for employees.

One of the main problems that cause of working in fast-food workplace is serious physical problem. Many of them doesn’t aware what are the possible outcome to your body if didn’t think the limit of time of working. One possible effect are having a low immune system for lack of sleeping because of coming home late.

A psychological problem, this is the most common problem based on my experience. It affects your attitude that can cause a misunderstanding to your family, friends, or love ones. As a culinary student, stress, pressure, and expectation is my number one enemy that led to psychological problem. Always thinking the pressure from my studies and the expectation people around me gives more stress.

Lastly emotional problem, we know that employees in the fast-food workplace gave their own personal problems. That’s why some employees there can’t focus in there work because of stress in there problems. Sometimes they get scolded by there managers or bosses because of low performance get mixed in there minds that affects there performance or can’t focus on there task.

Although that’s the reality, employees must take those problems as a positive for them to easily make a solution. Think those problems as a material that makes them more inspired and hardworking employee. Just think in a positive way for a positive result for someday they can share there own thought and experience.

The article that I read is all about the Food Safety. It is Review by Mary L. Gavin, MD. This article was review at November 2014. Mary L. Gavin, MD is a board-certified pediatrician and a medical editor at KidsHealth.org she is responsible for ensuring the medical accuracy of health information created for the KidsHealth website. She has done more than 200 interviews with print, radio, online, and TV outlets, including a 13-city media tour to promote the release of Fit Kids.

It shows in the article the different ways to know the food is safety. We should start to the market as we go to the store to buy ingredients look to the market place that are safe if you buy an packed meat make sure that you checked the expiration date and checked also the odor of the meat. In the kitchen raw meat, poultry, or fish should be cooked or frozen within 2 days. Use a food thermometer when cooking meat and poultry. Even though the kitchen might look clean, your hands, and the utensils. In this article said that if you have an microwave you will use the appropriate utensil because if you will not use the correct utensil it may chance that the microwave will be explode.

I notice in this article is that helpful to the other people specially to the person who will take culinary arts because they get more knowledge in terms in food safety. I already notice that the author that she is accustomed to what she`s reviewing. She is true of what she`s doing to give more information to people who are not very familiar with food safety.

Therefore I conclude that the food safety is important because if you cannot apply the food safety in our daily life we might get an illness. If we like have a long life to live we just apply it to our life. Always remember the importance of the food safety. It not just for yourself it is also for the people that will eat the food that you cooked. Overall the article is meaningful because it can provide valuable information that we can share or tell others to know the importance of food safety. It can greatly help us to keep ourselves from what we used and to prevent food poison that we can experience before or after the food that you cooked.

“2 + 2 = 5” Reaction paper

The 7 minutes film s all about a gray classroom with some students and a teacher. There class system is what there school believe, so there are 3 students who reacts on what the teacher wants to say, but not all those students didn’t for there stand.

those three students have their own reasons why did they do it. the first one, he stand up and reacts on what the teacher said, he speak up his own thought but when the teacher answered him, he just shut up. The second student fight for his own stand and the last student didn’t speak he just stay quiet. In my opinion, those students represents what we have in our society, there are only less people who wants to fight on what is there thought or opinion, they are scared because they might risk there life, their are some people who does want to fight the right thing and do not think about risking its life.

the film just wants us to know or to tell that we all have our own stand, we just need to defend it even if it will be risky, we should see that our society is like that, we shouldn’t just sit there and be quiet, speak out!

On this world their have different view in life. Their have different attitude and level of pride. You may do your want or obey on what they say. It’s into you if you listen to them or do your own. That film that I watch is all about attitude on different people. Their have a student has silent attitude, he want to fight but he choose to be silent. And their have one student that he choose not to be silent and argue his want even he know that he will die on what he do. In the end of the film their have an lesson, People have a different view in life. The other choose to go with the flow and the other violate and proves his/her opinion.

The short film two & two share lessons on every viewer,that represents in our society now. From that short film it makes me realized that in this day there are people use their power to make people under them to follow their decisions and like, even it is bad or makes persons life destroy. In this day some of us believe in wrong decisions and wrong person.

It makes me feel sad for the child that stand for the truth and believe in their self even though it can cause him to die. Authority is one of the greatest power now on in our society, if you have a power you can do anything,and buy everything. Those people feels me so bad to their norms that pressure others to control the happening now. It represents different people that for the name of authority they cannot speak for their rights and stand for their self to fight for truth.

To every persons that can not stand for their self we need to fight for the truth and right. Being silent from the happening around us ,Some people hurt,sad and die for their right that they do not stand on.
